The Palm Beach Breakers LLC, the legal entity holding the former Tier 2 charter, has been approved as a USA Hockey sanctioned AAA team competing under SAHOF for the 2025–2026 season.

The Tier 2 program is preserved. Longwood Hockey acquired, through a renewable perpetual license, the Tier 2 SAHOF charter of the dormant Tampa Scorpions so both Tier 1 and Tier 2 programming can run at Palm Beach Ice Works.

Brands going forward: Florida Surf — Tier 1 AAA USA Hockey / SAHOF (9U–14U). Palm Beach Breakers — Tier 2 AA/A USA Hockey / SAHOF, including ADM mites. Florida Wave — AAU full-ice mites (7U / 8U) in a non-USA Hockey format.

Tier 1 tryouts happen in phases aligned with Florida Alliance timing. Confirm current-year tryout dates with the club sites — not this snapshot.

Larry Robbins and Longwood Hockey acquired Palm Beach Ice Works and the Palm Beach Breakers from philanthropist Lori Alf.

The rink remains a training-first Olympic sheet in West Palm Beach, home to Surf, Wave, Breakers, and The Skating Club of Florida.

Palm Beach Ice Works received the Fritz Dietl Award for Ice Arena Excellence in 2019.

The award honors Fritz Dietl’s lifetime dedication to the ice skating industry and his determination to encourage innovation and excellence in facility management, operations, and programming.
